Meet Sheri Farabaugh

Oil Artist

I began painting after retiring from tax accounting; I guess that’s about as far from art as you can get.   A love of drawing and painting as a child stayed with me until I retired from accounting and was able to tackle painting full time.   From the moment I took my first class I was committed to becoming the best artist I could be.   It always seems a bit of magic that with nothing but a squeeze of paint and some good brushes you can tell a story.   The hope of pulling that off every once in a while brings me to my studio almost every day.  Finding beauty in the details has led me to realism.   I am drawn to bold values, intricate patterns and above all the play of light on my subjects.   Having grown up around water I am often painting rivers, lakes, lotus, and lily pads.  My husband Dave and I split our time between Colorado and Arizona.

I am represented by Abend Gallery, Denver, CO, Mary Williams Fine Arts, Boulder, CO, and Aar River Gallery, Westminster CO.
