Meet Cynthia Lewis
Oil Artist
Cynthia Lewis is an oil and mixed-media artist based in Westminster, CO. Her work depicts snapshots of memory, real and imagined, that exude a warm, inviting energy, drawing viewers into a world where nature and imagination intertwine. Building upon a life long interest in design and all things creative, Lewis began painting in 2021 following retirement, via a city sponsored class. Painting quickly became a passion and Lewis has continued to learn through classes, workshops and mentorships with professional artists. Lewis is a vibrant, imaginative artist whose work bursts with color and emotion, capturing the beauty of everyday moments with a whimsical and heartfelt touch. Her paintings, rich in bold hues and expressive brushstrokes, reflect a unique blend of realism and fantasy, from lush florals to scenes of children at play, her art is infused with a with a sense of wonder and surreal charm. Lewis’s creations invites viewers to consider ephemeral spaces, both seen and unseen, and captures the poignant, fleeting moments in everyday life with a whimsical and unique perspective.
Lewis has been invited and received recognition in numerous juried shows throughout Colorado. Her work is on display at Gilpin County Arts Association in Central City, CO, the Fusebox, a container gallery in downtown Westminster, CO and at Brighton’s Main Street Creatives Gallery where she is a studio artist. Lewis is also a member of Palatteers, a juried Westminster art club, that shows members work in a variety of local venues.
