Clay Artist

Anastasia discovered her passion for pottery at age four after watching a local demonstration in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. By fourteen, she had taken her first class and opened her own business just a year later. Her work is now exhibited nationally.

At 23, while earning her BFA from Georgia State University, she began teaching pottery classes and won several teaching awards. With over 30 years of experience, Anastasia now runs the ceramics department and teaches adult classes at Main Street Gallery.

Her love of international travel, particularly her time living in Taiwan—where she acted on a TV show and taught English—deeply influences her bold, dramatic ceramic style. Known for its exaggerated and large-scale forms, her work reflects her vibrant personality and commitment to challenging outdated norms.

A survivor of domestic violence, Anastasia credits clay, community, and creative expression with helping her heal. She’s passionate about using art for social good, offering free workshops to people in recovery and donating her work to support domestic violence awareness.

Still inspired by the medium, Anastasia remains a dedicated teacher, lifelong learner, and hopes to continue creating pottery for another 35 years.
