Deb Jenkins

Deb Jenkins

Deb is a Colorado native and feels lucky to live in such a beautiful and diverse state. Nature was a large part of her childhood where wildlife was abundant and the fields were her playground. She felt like an explorer in a wild land. Being outdoors and experiencing wildlife and wild places still feed her soul and inspire her art.

Living in Colorado affords her the opportunity to enjoy hiking, camping, lake kayaking and snowshoeing. She also finds great enjoyment in nature travel, photography and scuba diving. Deb has volunteered with raptors for 25 years and has volunteered at Greenwood Wildlife Rehab and at the Denver Zoo.

Creating art from nature gives Deb the opportunity to look closer and see the world through different eyes. She has discovered that nature has wonderful surprises for those willing to look. Her hope is that her art will inspire the same wonder and curiosity for the viewer.

Deb has done commission artwork for a fundraiser in Minnesota along with illustrations for an activity book for the Mayo clinic and the Midwest Peregrine Foundation.  She has exhibited her art in out-of-state shows such as the Gilcrease Museum in Oklahoma, Art and the Animal in Florida, Equine Art Show at Emerald Downs in Washington and has shown at many galleries in the Denver metro area. She has won awards and her work is in private collections around the US and in Canada.

Deb is currently a studio artist at Main Street Gallery in Brighton. She is also a juried active member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists, a member of the Colorado Pastel Society, the Broomfield Art Guild, and the Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists.
